ISO 26000 - Guidance on Social Responsibility

ISO, in Geneva, has reported that...

"Small business could claim to be the world’s biggest business. It is estimated that more than 95% of the world’s businesses are small to medium sized. Thus, International Standards need to provide as many benefits for small businesses as they do for global enterprises, governments and society at large.

Naturally, this includes the future ISO 26000 Standard which will give guidance on social responsibility. With Swiss Government funding, the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) has carried out a global assessment of the relevance of social responsibility and ISO 26000 as perceived by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)”.

 We at SQMC await ISO 26000, and its implications, with interest!
