What is the aim of an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training course?

Running for 40-hours (culminating with a 2-hour examination), the 5-day Lead Auditor course equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform process audits of modern Quality Management Systems (QMS), in accordance with the Auditing Guidelines of ISO 19,011.

Why should YOU attend this Lead Auditor course?

Do you intend to carry out External Audits? This is the role of a “Lead Auditor” – someone with the expertise to audit external sources, such as your suppliers.

SQMC’s ISO 9001 Lead Auditor course consists of a series of lively lectures, practical role-play scenarios, dynamic case-studies, and team work. In only five days, you can learn, understand and appreciate all of the following:
 The principles and concepts of “Quality” --- including Quality Assurance and Quality Audits.
 Discover the “Eight Quality Management Principles” – as explained and expounded by your own Quality “guru” for the week (all of our approved Tutors are hand-picked, SQMC-trained, Chartered Quality Professionals; and are genuine experts in the field).
 The Requirements of a Quality Management System, using the latest versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 9004 as your yardstick.
 Getting to grips with Documentation and Interpretation.
 Understand the principles, methodology, preparation and performance of the Quality Audit, to ISO 19,011.
 The key to selecting the Audit sample, and the subsequent preparation of checklists – get this right and you’ll perform Process Audits with increased confidence.
 How to prepare the findings and statements of a nonconformity.
 Master the art of Audit Reporting.
 A look at Corrective & Preventive Action, the follow-up process, and then surveillance.
 A discussion of the duties of an Auditor and a Lead Auditor, with a seasoned pro.
 The role of the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), and the requirements of the Registration Scheme in the UK operated by the Chartered Quality Institute’s “International Register of Certificated Auditors” (CQI / IRCA).

ISO 9001:2008 provides both manufacturing and service organisations with a useful model for business process improvement. This SQMC flagship course has been structured to provide practical and comprehensive training for the performance of complete QMS process audits and supplier assessments in accordance with new Auditor Guidelines in the manufacturing, supply, and service industries in general.

Also covered are ISO 9000 & ISO 9004, giving management guidance; plus ISO 19,011 – a fantastic Standard which provides guidelines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems auditing.

A full-colour, comprehensive Workbook is provided for class use and your future reference.

*Many of our clients successfully complete this course with no previous training or experience in this field; however some may find it beneficial to also undertake our 2-day Internal QMS Auditor programme beforehand – budget permitting!
