A 1-day introductory course based on IRCA 2171 guidelines
Aim
The aim of this course is to provide participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of ISO 14,001 as a tool for the management of environmental aspects and impacts.
Who should attend?
It is intended for those requiring an introduction to the EMS standards and for all levels of staff - including top management.
Those involved in the design, implementation and continual improvement of the EMS will find this course helpful, as will those who plan to take other ISO 14,000-based training courses - such as Internal Environmental Auditor or EMS Auditor/Lead Auditor.
Benefits
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
Describe the purpose of an environmental management system, and explain the legislative framework relevant to an EMS.
Explain the purpose and intent of the ISO 14,000 series of standards.
Describe the requirements of ISO 14,001

* Business benefits of ISO 14,001
* Developing an EMS, and assembling the Team
* Evolution of Environmental effects; and hazards
* Detailed examination of the ISO 14,001 requirement
